Natalie has the skills and passion and is ready to put them back to work

Natalie loves tech! Always has, even as a little girl she would rather spend time behind a keyboard than in front of the TV or playing video games. Her passion for technology and robotics landed her a job as a data architect right out of college with a global firm, where she was regularly promoted and ran a small team of developers. She also met her husband at the company and was so happy and excited about marrying Roger. She had always dreamed of having a family and now she was on the path to making this dream come true. Natalie and husband now have 2 beautiful children that are in first and second grade. Natalie loves being a mom and is proud of her family – yet she’s getting pulled, pulled by that drive that helped her achieve great career success right out of college.  Working full-time at a job she loved always fed her soul and she’s looking for that type of connection again.  She she’s ready to re-ignite her passion for technology and get back to work.  It’s been almost 10 years since she worked on her last application development project and she understands technology has changed.  Cloud platforms offer data services she could have never imagined possible before and she’s nervous about what she does not know.

• What does this new world of Cloud first platforming mean and what am I supposed to know?
• How long will it take me to ramp up and get confident in my capabilities?
• What kind of impact will this have on my children and me being able to be a great mom – how do I balance going back to work and raising two young children?
• Am I being selfish? Even if I can figure out how to pull this off, will my entire family unit suffer?

By joining the MSHEmpowers community, Natalie has connected herself to the family of resources that can help her accelerate her journey to re-enter the workforce as a leader and major contributor again.  Let’s take another look at her questions and see what she did to find some answers.
